A Baby Story-the power of positive thinking

Last Thursday after dinner Andy and I had a conversation about how I wasn't due for another 2.5 weeks. He said that I shouldn't get my hopes up because the baby probably wasn't coming for a while. I told him I was thinking positively and that the baby WAS coming early. He didn't believe me. I told him to send some positive energy my way and help me wish the baby out. He thought I was crazy. After the conversation ended, I walked upstairs and had a good strong contraction. I bent over to get something out of a drawer, and my water broke!! I couldn't help but laugh. See, positive thinking really does work! :)

We got ready and went to the hospital around 8:00pm. I wasn't in labor yet, so they started me on Pitocin. After an hour or so, I got my epidural and peacefully fell asleep. They woke me up about 1:00am because the baby's heart rate was dropping with each contraction. They decided to check me to see where I was at and to make an action plan. Luckily I was fully dilated. The doctor came in, I pushed 3 times, and our beautiful baby girl was born at 1:30am. Things couldn't have gone better. She weighed 6 pounds 7.5 ounces.

We couldn't be more excited to have this new little angel join our family. The kids have been SO good and they love their little sister a ton. They both could sit and hold her all day long. I love watching all 3 of them together. It melts my heart! There is something so amazing about the sweet spirit that a new baby brings into a home. I couldn't be happier!

Lauren Lauren Lauren...... Remember when you were visiting, and we had the "name coversation"? You told me I didn't have to worry about you stealing my names because you would never use an A name again. WHAT??? Alivia Rae with an A??? That's the exact name I told you. SAD!!!!!!!! I might have just cried a little.....

Oh my sweet beautiful Alivia. Ask Ammon...I cried all the way through the pictures. She is precious and so is her mom! Lauren, you are beautiful in your "just had a baby" pictures! I love you all and can't wait to be there! Thanks for blogging! What an amazing little family...you truly are all a mother could wish for.

I just wanted to publicly apologize to Andrea for stealing her name. just so you know, Olivia was never on my name list AND I swore I would not use an "A" name this time. But little Avery can be convincing. She came up with olivia on her own and really wanted to use it. She also said that it had to start with an "A" because her and Andrew start with an "A". I went through my entire list of names trying to see what fit and Alivia is the one that felt right.I hope you can forgive me!!!

Congrats! You look so awesome, and your family is so beautiful. I'm impressed that you are already up and blogging. And, I agree with Ammie, your birth story sounds so marvelous... sleeping until you start pushing??? Oh, and I love that you are keeping with the "A" theme!

I'm so glad things went well for you. I had no idea you had your baby. Blake isn't very good at informing me about important things that happen. You look great for just having a baby!!! What a cute family. I can't believe she was only 6.75 pounds. She looks bigger than that. Blake probably didn't tell me about a little baby because he knows what I'm starting to think about:) Newborns are just so darn cute though and you are right about the sweet spirit they bring into the home. Such a strong feeling of peace, amid the chaos of this world. Congrats, and call if you need a break.

She's so cute!!! Congratulations!! I love the name and you probably just made Avery's life by basically letting her choose it. You're family is adorable!
Oh, and let me just say I think it's really rude and childish to publicly complain about name stealing. Everyone knows the early bird gets the worm.
